Tips for Hair Grooming
Probably the best way to achieve healthy and voluminous hair is to give it a hot oil treatment. A regular hot oil treatment ensures that the hair is properly conditioned, keeping it soft and manageable. The oil also permeates deep within the shafts and follicles, making the strands more flexible and smooth; since the shafts are well moisturized down to the roots, split ends which result from dry hair are also avoided. Massaging the scalp during the treatment also promotes hair growth, while relieving the overall tension in the body due to the pungent scent of the oil.
There are a variety of oil treatments which may be used for hair care, and most of these are natural and within easy reach. Coconut oil is usually the most accessible; it has been known to condition hair effectively and aid in the promotion of stronger hair shafts. The milk obtained from young coconuts is also a good alternative in achieving this purpose. Other oil options which provide similar results include olive, castor, almond, jojoba, and rosemary essences.
To effectively rinse the hair before treatment, try mixing half a cup of vinegar made out of apple cider with a gallon of water, and use this solution as a final hair rinse after your regular shampoo. If you want to give your hair added volume, throw some crushed garlic and peppercorn into your hot oil treatment before massaging it onto your scalp. For added bounce, prepare a mixture of gram flour and starch out of cooked rice and apply onto the hair itself before washing it off in a few minutes. Oily hair can be remedied by adding three teaspoons of concentrated lime juice to water and using this solution as a final hair rinse; you may also try applying witch hazel to the follicles with the use of cotton balls. To get rid of dandruff, mix in about 20 pills of crushed aspirin into your regular bottle of shampoo and use the mixture as you would normally do with a shampoo during a bath or hair rinse. You may also try applying a mixture of several eucalyptus oil drops and coconut oil, and massage this concoction firmly on the scalp. Leave the treatment overnight and wash it off the next morning with regular shampoo.
To keep your hair in excellent condition, make sure that you comb them properly at all times. Don’t use a stranded hair brush on wet hair; instead use a wide-toothed comb (those with soft bristles are recommended), to reduce breakage and hair fall. You may use the brush to comb dry hair before you go to sleep. This will maintain healthy blood circulation on your scalp and promote growth in the process. Minimize the use of hairstyle products, such as curling irons, hair gels, and mousse. These have the accumulated effect of hair damage. Also, never sleep with your hair accessories on, even if your intent is to maintain the style. This will do more harm than good in the long run.
